Kevin Burton

Career Overview

Kevin Burton has competed in the NBBA since 1989. A native of Mulvane, Kansas, Kevin has been a consistent performer across four decades, known for his defensive excellence, offensive production, and long-standing mentorship within the sport.

He began with the original Wichita Sonics from 1989 to 1992, joined the Columbus Vipers from 1993 to 2001, played for the Kansas All Stars from 2003 to 2007, competed with the Pennsylvania Wolfpack in 2008, returned to the Wichita Sonics from 2009 to 2014, represented the USA Legends in 2021, and joined the Cleveland Scrappers beginning in 2023.

Kevin was also named to the NBBA Top 30 Players 30/30 All Time Team covering 1976 through 2006.

From 2003 through 2007 with the Kansas All Stars, Kevin appeared in 33 World Series games, batted .507 during that span, and recorded 73 putouts.

Kevin was part of the Kansas All Stars team that won the NBBA Championship in 2007. During his five seasons with Kansas, the team also finished second in 2004 and 2005, remaining among the league’s elite.

While with the Columbus Vipers, Kevin teamed with Hall of Famer Rob Weigand to form a formidable defensive duo that made Columbus a consistent contender in major tournaments.
